IFIGENEIA is proud to be an organiser of a ten-day event, a challenge based on innovations for students – CBI, that will be held at the University of Sarajevo. The goal is to present an innovative idea on the use of accelerators in applications that benefit the wider society (from materials science to medicine). The participating students will be divided into four international teams of six students each and will present their final ideas to an international jury after 10 days of joint work, on the 1st October. Before that, they will listen to selected expert lectures (first online several times, starting from September 1st), and then in person on September 22nd in Sarajevo.
As for the experts from whom the students will learn, there will be Maurizio Vretenar and Fanouria Antoniou from CERN, Nicolas Delerue from CNRS, Sandro Rossi from CNAO and others. Some of these experts will be available to the teams for all 10 days of the challenge in Sarajevo.
The main sponsor this year is the Three Physicists Foundation, as well as the EU Horizon project IFIGENEIA, which will finance selected students from Slovenia, Greece and Cyprus, as well as accelerator experts involved in the IFIGENEIA project who are coming to Sarajevo.
