The IFIGENEIA project has published the third edition of its newsletter, reflecting on the progress achieved during the first project year and looking ahead to the next phase of scientific, technical and collaborative activities.
This edition highlights IFIGENEIA’s progress during its first year, including key developments in the conceptual design of a future radioisotope production facility, the RFQ demonstrator, scientific collaboration and international outreach.
The newsletter takes readers to the 2nd IFIGENEIA Annual Project Meeting in Ljubljana, Slovenia, where partners gathered in May 2026 for two days of scientific, technical and strategic exchange. The meeting provided an opportunity to review progress across the project, including scientific and technical activities, communication and dissemination, capacity building and business planning.
The newsletter also features the Particle Therapy Masterclass 2026 in Ljubljana, which brought together students and professionals for lectures and hands-on exercises exploring particle accelerators, cancer theranostics and radiation treatment planning. The issue also presents a recent IFIGENEIA analysis of rising future demand for Lu-177 therapies, examining projected patient needs and the importance of sustainable production and service capacity in Europe and the wider region.
Finally, the newsletter looks at inclusion and diversity within IFIGENEIA, presenting activities aimed at supporting active and visible participation across the consortium, with particular attention to the project’s regional dimension in South-East Europe.
