Advancing digital innovation for science and society. The Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH) is one of Greece’s leading research organisations, dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies that address complex ICT challenges. Through its participation in the IFIGENEIA project, CERTH contributes advanced expertise in information technologies and digital innovation, helping to strengthen the technological foundations of next-generation radioisotope production.
Founded in 2000, the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas is a non-profit research organisation supervised by the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation (GSRI) of the Greek Ministry of Development. As one of the most important research centres in Greece and the only one located in Northern Greece, CERTH focuses on promoting innovative research that benefits society. A key contributor within the organisation is the Information Technologies Institute (CERTH/ITI), one of Greece’s leading institutions in Informatics, Telematics and Telecommunications. CERTH/ITI has extensive experience in numerous European and national R&D projects and is active across many sectors, including energy, healthcare, manufacturing, robotics, transport, smart cities and agri-food. Its technological expertise spans areas such as data and visual analytics, machine and deep learning, virtual and augmented reality, image processing, computer and cognitive vision, human-computer interaction, IoT and communication technologies, cloud computing, distributed ledger technologies, interoperability, system integration, and mobile and web applications.
Within the IFIGENEIA project, CERTH plays a key technological role by leading Task: Implementation of a Virtual Interactive RadioIsotope Production Unit (T.6.3). Through this work, the organisation contributes to the development of advanced digital tools that will support virtual interaction, simulation and knowledge transfer related to radioisotope production technologies. Moreover, CERTH will play an important role in the AI modelling and the development of computational tools in the framework of the work package: LINAC design dedicated to radioisotope production and other societal applications (WP3). By combining expertise in data technologies, immersive environments and system integration, CERTH helps enable innovative digital solutions that support research, training and collaboration within the IFIGENEIA ecosystem.
