Technopolis ICT Park (TPOLIS) is a premier center for technology, innovation, and digital growth in Southeastern Europe. Established in 2001 as Greece’s first private technology park, TPOLIS has spent 25 years connecting researchers, business leaders, technical experts, and policymakers. Based in Thessaloniki, the organisation acts as a strategic bridge between SMEs, universities, and technology partners, helping them enhance their competitiveness, digital skills, and investment opportunities.
TPOLIS is recognised for its success in translating academic research into viable industrial solutions. Through its incubator and mentoring programs, it assists startups in securing the funding and professional support required to succeed in the digital economy. Today, TPOLIS is a key participant in numerous European initiatives, sharing its expertise in entrepreneurship, partnership building, and technical training to strengthen regional innovation networks.
In the IFIGENEIA project, TPOLIS leads Task 2.2, which focuses on specialised skills training and the “Training of Trainers” framework. The organisation ensures that the project’s complex scientific findings are converted into structured, practical learning modules that facilitate effective collaboration between Excellence Hubs. By standardising knowledge transfer, TPOLIS helps stakeholders acquire advanced expertise in LINAC technologies, ensuring the project delivers a measurable and long-term impact.
Beyond its training role, TPOLIS is positioning IFIGENEIA as the “scientific backbone” for the future of nuclear medicine. The project provides the essential technical design and research required to support Europe’s strategic autonomy in the production of life-saving medical isotopes. This foundational work enables advanced medical therapies in the long term, while also offering diverse applications in fields such as archaeometry for the radiodating of cultural heritage artefacts. These activities are driving the creation of a new ecosystem of excellence centred in Northern Greece, involving key national stakeholders and fostering regional scientific growth.
